Quranic Conference Underway in Senegal

A two-day conference titled “Holy Quran, Spirituality and World without Violence” was launched in Senegal on Wednesday.

Organized by the Iranian Cultural Center in Senegal, the scholarly event is underway in the West African country’s capital city of Dakar.

"From Quranic Diplomacy toward Islamic Unity” is the motto of the conference.

It is being attended by Quranic scholars and researchers from Senegal and the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The opening ceremony began with playing the national anthems of Senegal and Iran, followed by recitation of verses from the Holy Quran by Iranian Cultural Attaché in Senegal Seyed Hassan Esmati.

Addressing the event, Professor Chernuka Habib, the director of Dakar Islamic Institute, underlined that the conference aims to enhance unity among Muslims.

The conference will conclude on Thursday evening.
