Akooji Badat, from the Snowdon Street mosque in Batley, said it “seemed like it could do with some help”.
As well as the mosque’s collection for the hospital it also invited a group of South Korean Christians to learn about the Muslim faith and the centre’s activities.
The group also visited the Dewsbury Elim Pentecostal Church.
Mr Badat said the mosque had a practice of raising money for other faiths at certain points during the year.
“The idea is that as Muslims we have a responsibility to help others all around the world and we hope other mosques in the country follow us.”
