The first phase of the mega project will see the construction of 10 mosques in Muwaihat, Zahra, and Humaidiya-1 areas of Ajman.

Dubai — The Dar Al Ber Society (Dabs) will build 30 mosques across the UAE on an average value of Dh1,200,000 to Dh1,300,000 each.

The mosque campaign is themed in pursuance of the advice of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), who was reported as saying: “Whoever builds a mosque for the sake of Allah, Allah will build him a similar house in Paradise.”

The first phase of the mega project will see the construction of 10 mosques in Muwaihat, Zahra, and Humaidiya-1 areas of Ajman, according to an official source.

He said that 10 more mosques are to be built in Ras Al Khaimah in areas to be determined in coordination with the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department, whereas 10 others or more are to be specified later as per the donations to be collected.

The mosques will be equipped with the latest audio devices and will have eye-catching designs, local and Islamic architecture, spiritually uplifting atmosphere, and spacious prayer area that can accommodate up to 350 worshippers, with special attention to the needs of old and special needs worshipers, he added.

“Each and every mosque will have two annexes; one for the Imam and the other for necessary services. Donations are accepted at any of the Dar Al Ber Society branches in the emirates of Dubai, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, and Umm Al Quwain, and counters at shopping centres and cooperative societies across the country,” the source said.

While a bank account has been opened at the Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank, more details on the mosque campaign are to be unveiled at the ‘Heavens Gates’ live programme telecast every Friday at 6pm on the Noor Dubai radio and TV under the exclusive sponsorship of the Dar Al Ber Society for eight years.

Dabs has already constructed and sealed agreements to build 15 mosques and Quran study centres across the UAE. It is all set to build another mosque on a plot of land at Al Barsha area Dubai. In addition to this three other mosques under study, the official source said.
